Procedures

Breast augmentation

Breast augmentation or enlargement is a surgical procedure to increase the size of breasts, improve symmetry, correct drooping, create symmetry between the shoulders/chest and hips and to re-fill the breasts after emptying associated with breast feeding. Augmentation is commonly used to reconstruct breasts following cancer surgery.

Breast reduction

Breast reduction surgery reduces the size of the breast, lifts the nipple and can correct differences in breast size.

Breast reconstruction

There are multiple techniques of breast reconstruction which vary widely in application and complexity of surgery.

Breast implant/capsule removal

The body naturally forms a scar or capsule around breast implants.  Over time this may harden and contract and may require removal.

Inverted nipples

Inverted nipples are common and can be surgically corrected.

Gynaecomastia (male breast reduction)

Excessive breast tissue in males is called Gynacomastia.  It may require surgical correction to reduce both the tissue and the excess skin component.

Mastopexy or breast lift

Aging, weight loss, pregnancy and breast feeding, may cause breasts to droop.  Breast lift (mastopexy) is a surgical technique to lift and reshape the breasts.

Nipple reconstruction

At the completion of breast reconstruction, nipples can be reconstructed.  They may be tattooed to complete the overall outcome.
